Wonderful Avondale / Logan Square one bedroom w/ private en suite bath sublease in 2 bed / 2 bath apartment. Available February 1 through June 30, with option to renew for 12 months and beyond! Our current roommate has to move home for a family issue, and we're seeking someone to take over his room.

Price:

$700 / month plus 1/3 utilities

Location:

5 minute walk to Belmont blue line station (last underground station on the blue line, so great for winter), on the border between Avondale and Logan Square! Just steps away from Belmont 77 bus, Kimball 82 bus, Milwaukee 56 bus, and Divvy station! We're also next door to Avondale park, with indoor basketball gym and outdoor public pool. There's also a cute neighborhood vegetable garden right across the street from us for those with a green thumb!

Only 25 minutes to the Loop and 30 minutes to O'hare by train. We're a 5-minute walk to Aldi and Joong Boo Korean market, and about a 15 minute walk to Jewel Osco and Target. There are lots of great restaurants and bars nearby, plus a Walgreens, 7/11, gyms, Home Depot, etc. We rarely need to leave the neighborhood for anything! Walk to the heart of Logan Square in about 15 minutes.

Open bedroom:

Fits a full-sized bed along with desk, cube organizer / chest, and book shelf. You'll see in the photos how our current roommate has it arranged. You'll have your own private, en suite bathroom with shower/tub. The bathroom was recently remodeled and very clean!

House Amenities:

Our common space is fully furnished, but the open bedroom is not - we're looking for someone who plans to bring personal furnishings for their room but doesn't have a lot of other items. Our kitchen is newly remodeled and fully stocked, with stainless steel appliances, including gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and large fridge. We have a juicer, air fryer, crockpot, blender, coffee maker, rice cooker, etc, all of which you're welcome to use. We have a shared front porch and back yard with our three wonderful neighbors. Our landlord is AMAZING - she lives in the basement and takes care of everything we need!

The apartment has laundry hookups, but we use the super-clean laundromat at the end of our block (3 minute walk).

Parking:

Zoned on street parking is available - there is also the potential for a private space in the back, which we can discuss with the landlord if you're interested.

About you:

Respectful, clean, LGBTQ friendly, anti-racist, immigrant friendly, Covid-conscious, with a steady source of income and ability to pay on time, and desire to live with two fun, down-to-Earth gay male roommates. Must have proof of income and references available upon request.

About us:

Married gay couple, 30 and 32, computer science student and young professional in financial services. From Korea and Kentucky - Chicago residents since 2018. We're chill, friendly, respectful of space, and also down to hang out - you do you!

Basic house rules:

We're not big on setting a ton of rules - just the basics to ensure we're all on the same page and comfortable living together. Share in the cleaning of common areas, put dishes in the dishwasher, keep personal spaces clean, keep socializing with others to a minimum until this pandemic subsides (we can talk about what level of Covid-conscious works for everyone), and just be a generally nice person. :) Other than that, we're pretty easy to get along with! If you smoke, you're welcome to do so in the back yard or on the front porch.

Utilities:

Split three ways (we pay 2/3, you pay 1/3) - this includes electric, gas, and high-speed internet. Typically, these average between $40 and $75 per month per person. Water and trash are provided by the landlord.
