Michaela F - $1,500/month

Hi! I will be moving to NYC in September for a new job, after almost a year of travelling. I am originally from Rhode Island but most recently living in Berlin for 4 years.

I work as a Mechanical Engineer and love doing things outdoors in my free time (climbing, hiking, mountaineering, trail running, cycling, skiing, etc). Im also an ice hockey player and generally like to stay active. Work keeps me busy, but Im an extrovert and I also enjoy a nice balance with a decent social life!

I grew up in a chaotic household and feel most at home when living with others, and not in a perfectly pristine environment. That said, I am clean (and more importantly, considerate) where it counts. I would like to find a living environment where I feel comfortable leaving some stuff around sometimes but also know where responsibilities lie in terms of keeping things clean.

I am single, will travel regularly (maybe 1x/month), but also like to host out of town guests occasionally and/or hold small social gatherings with friends (more like dinner and wine than house parties - I prefer to party outside). I also have times where I am feeling completely antisocial and hole up in my room or on the couch.

I enjoy cooking and hope to cook frequently.

If it matters, I speak OK German and am learning Spanish -- I hope to actively practice both foreign languages and would be cool to do that a bit at home too :)
