I am moving to SF for a new job and am looking for someone to take over or sublet my room in our lovely 2BR apartment on the Upper East Side. Move-in is flexible, anytime between June 4th and July 10th. My current roommate and I love the apartment–so much so that we signed a long-term lease (ends 5/2020).

Rent for my portion of the lease is $1680. Electric is between $15-30 per month and internet is $25/month, bringing total monthly costs to around ~$1730 per month. Given the length of the lease we’d prefer someone who is looking for something long-term.

The Room:
-Hardwood floors, high ceilings, a window that looks out onto a courtyard
-A giant, full-size closet
-True bedrooms (not flexed) that do not share a wall, which means the room is nice and quiet
-Can fit any size bed–I currently have a full size bed, desk, and dresser with room to spare
-The room will be cleaned and unfurnished unless you’d like to purchase the bed and mattress (which is a year and half old)

The Apartment:
-Common spaces are furnished as pictured
-Kitchen has a dishwasher, gas oven, marble countertops, and plenty of cabinets
-Large coat closet
-True washer and dryer IN UNIT (pictured)
-The fireplace is decorative

The Location:
-We’re located between Lexington and 3rd on a quiet, tree-lined street.
-The Q, 4, 5, and 6 are a few blocks away.
-Whole Foods, Fairway, Central Park, and many bars/restaurants are also within a 2-4 block radius.

About Us: I’ve been in the apartment for three years and in New York for eight years. I’m so sad leave this wonderful apartment and my awesome roommate! She is a 32 year old badass marketing professional with a killer sense of humor and some serious cooking skills. She’s considerate and clean, and plans to stay in the apartment.

We are looking for a responsible, kind, clean roommate to take my place. Preferably a few years out of college and female. No pets and no desire to host on AirBnB. Since I’m moving to the West Coast and the lease goes until next May, we’d prefer to find someone who is interested in a long-term sublet or lease takeover.
