I'm a gainfully employed, respectful, laid-back female human whose age belies their (relative) maturity. I'd love to find two or three roommates in the Williamsburg/East Williamsburg area off the L, nowhere past Morgan. Lorimer/Grand/Graham/Montrose would be ideal, but the "south Williamsburg" area closer to the J/M/Z is good, too. Looking to move for November 1.
I've lived with both guys and girls and honestly don't really have a preference, but would love to have a gender mix rather than living with two or three other girls. I like all different types of people, but creative-ish is always a plus, and definitely someone who can a) pay the rent (steady income or trust fund, please!) and b) doesn't work from home, or at least not every day. I keep to myself when I'm home for the most part, but I like cool, fun, down-to-earth people who have varied interests and wouldn't mind hanging out and doing Activities together or sharing a bottle of wine from time to time. Basically, if you think we'd get along, we probably would. I'm fun and weird, and hopefully you are, too. Gay-friendly, 420 friendly, pretty much cool with most things as long as you're not, like, a junkie or bringing random people home every night.
I enjoy standard activities like reading, watching terrible television (WHY AM I SO OBSESSED WITH MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER?) as well as, you know, actual good movies and HBO, trying new foods and restaurants, saying I'm going to the gym but never actually going, drinking with friends, and *relaxing*. I like to go out and have fun on the weekends, and the occasional Thursday night, but for the most part I keep it pretty low-key given that I work, well, working hours. I don't "party" a lot, am not into the club scene, but do like to sit around and talk with people I like until the wee hours of the morning. I don't have groups of people over all that often (or like, ever), but I don't mind if you do. I'm not home all that much (I work from 9-7 and have a pretty healthy social life), but I like to come home to a home rather than just a place to sleep.
If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend who spends the night a few times a week, fine by me! I also don't have a lot of furniture for common areas, so it would be RAD, but not necessary, if you did. Ikea exists for a reason. I'm into ~design~ and having a nice-looking home, so it would be cool if you are, too. I don't cook, so we wouldn't have to battle over who uses the kitchen, but probably my one and only MUST HAVE!!! in a roommate (besides a sense of humor) is that you're not OCD. I'm not a mess, but I sometimes leave my jacket on the couch or a glass on the table. If you're a super-clean anal type, I genuinely envy you, but you probably wouldn't like living with me.
As far as my job goes, I'm a beauty editor for the internet, which has its pros and cons. PROS: I bring home the motherlode of free beauty products on the daily, and am always happy to share. If you want to, you can be my +1 to weird awkward industry parties and drink free champagne and then leave early and go get fries. CONS: Sometimes I leave said beauty products ev-er-y-where. I'm not gross, but I do have a lot of… stuff. It would be KILLER if we could find a place that has 2 or 1 1/2 bathrooms for that reason, but obviously not necessary and kind of a shot in the dark. That's a perfect world scenario.
This isn't a deal breaker, but I LOVE animals and though I don't have any pets right now, I think about adopting one on the regular, so it would be great if you like animals or at least aren't allergic. If you come with a pet or pets, we could work that out, too.
