Hi! I'm a grad student, reading philosophy at CUNY. I am currently living in Elmhurst, Queens, with one other Singaporean woman (she's a working adult who sometimes works from home). We're looking for someone (or a couple) to fill the last remaining room in our 3bedroom apartment. Ideally someone also from Singapore, but anyone who's fun and laidback but also responsible around the house. Looking for a new housemate in 3 bedroom apartment in Elmhurst, Queens. You'll have your own bathroom (with shower), a large bedroom that can fit a king-size bed and more, huge storage closet with lots of space, in-unit washer and dryer, fully-stocked kitchen with free cabinet space, and a living room that gets plenty of light!
Room is currently lightly furnished, but can come unfurnished if you want. Rent is $1000/month, utilites are about $70-100 on top of that.
Our apartment is located just 3 minutes walk away from Grand Ave/Newtown station, which is about a half-hour from Midtown. We're on the top level in a 4-floor walkup. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, but close to plenty of international food options. Target and Asian supermarkets are a 5-min-walk away, Macy's and JC Penny are about 10-min-walk away, Trader Joe's a short bus ride away (or a 40-min-walk), 24hour deli just round the street, and at least 5 bubble tea places within walking distance.
You'll be living with two Singaporean girls - I'm a grad student and my housemate is a working adult who sometimes works at home. Ideally, you should be neat, clean, quiet at night, down to hang out and chill sometimes, but also respectful of personal space. Pets not allowed, sorry, but feel free to bring your plants.
