I am originally from Austria and have been living in NYC since 1999. I came as a transfer student, graduated in architecture, worked for some time in offices, did not like the Monday to Friday, 9 to 6/7/8...., went to evening school for nursing, have been working as a registered nurse since 2004. Since May this year I am working as an agency RN in New Haven, but come back once a week to Brooklyn, my home. :-) I am doing this to save money to build a straw bale house on a piece of land I bought in Greece last year. After the house is finished, I want to plant a lot of fruit and nut trees in addition to the existing olive trees, and eventually move there. For at least 9 months a year.
